What is paint correction?

Paint correction is a multi-stage machine-polishing process that permanently removes defects from your clear coat — swirl marks, scratches, water spots and oxidation — to restore the paint's true depth, clarity and gloss. It's the paint itself at its best, not a wax hiding the flaws.

  • A machine-polishing processProfessional pads and compounds gently level the clear coat to remove defects — they're never filled in or masked over.
  • Multi-stage & measuredWe measure paint thickness and tailor each step — compounding to cut defects, then refining to bring out maximum gloss.
  • Permanent defect removalSwirls, buffer trails, water spots and oxidation are physically polished out for good, not temporarily covered.
  • The ideal base for a coatingCorrecting first means a ceramic coating locks in a flawless finish.

Why you should get paint correction

It's more than looks. Correction restores your paint to its best possible condition, protects what your car is worth and sets the foundation for lasting protection.

  • Looks brand-new again

Erase years of swirls and scratches for a deep, glossy, showroom-fresh finish.

  • Protects resale value

Well-corrected, cared-for paint holds its value and shows far better at trade-in or sale.

  • True depth & color

Level paint reflects like a mirror and brings back rich, saturated, factory-fresh color.

  • The right base for a coating

Correction first means your ceramic coating locks in a flawless finish, not the flaws.

  • Permanent, not a cover-up

Defects are physically polished out for good — a wax only hides them for a few weeks.

  • Done safely, by hand

Paint thickness is measured and the least aggressive method is used to protect your clear coat.

How correction works

Every job is measured and tailored to your paint. We use the least aggressive method that safely delivers flawless results.

1
Step 01

Wash & Decontaminate

A safe hand wash, iron removal and clay treatment lift embedded grime so we polish clean, bare paint.

2
Step 02

Inspect & Measure

Under bright inspection lighting we assess defects and measure paint thickness to build a safe correction plan.

3
Step 03

Compound & Refine

Machine compounding removes the deeper defects, then refining polishes bring out maximum gloss.

4
Step 04

Protect the Finish

We seal or coat the fresh paint so all that restored clarity and gloss is locked in and protected.

Coated my truck a year ago and it still beads like day one. Washes in half the time now and the gloss hasn't faded a bit. Worth every penny.

Paint correction, explained

Paint correction is a multi-stage machine polishing process that permanently removes swirl marks, scratches, water spots and oxidation from your clear coat. Unlike a wax or glaze that hides defects, correction actually levels the paint to restore true depth, clarity and gloss.

Most light-to-moderate scratches and swirl marks can be dramatically reduced or fully removed with professional paint correction. Deeper scratches that have gone through the clear coat can usually be improved but not completely erased without repainting.

It depends on the level of correction and the condition of your paint. A one-step enhancement often takes a full day, while multi-stage correction on heavily swirled paint can take two or more days. We never rush the process.

A one-step (or enhancement) polish removes roughly 60–70% of defects and boosts gloss in a single pass — great value for newer or lightly marred cars. Multi-stage correction uses compounding plus refining steps to remove 85–95%-plus of defects for near-flawless, show-quality results.

We highly recommend it. Correction restores the paint to its best possible condition, and a ceramic coating locks that finish in and protects it for years. Applying a coating over freshly corrected paint is the ideal time to do it.

No. We measure your paint thickness and use the least aggressive method needed to safely remove defects. Professional correction removes only a few microns of clear coat, well within safe limits, to reveal fresh, level paint underneath.
